Statement of purpose

The Townsend Centre provides Day Care for adults with learning difficulties and supports each person to develop and maintain social, educational and independent living skills and empowers them to reach their full potential.

The Harlequin Coffee Shop – Every Friday

Service Users assist in the preparation and cooking of the food sold in the coffee shop. They also experience what it is like to have a job and develop social skills whilst working with the general public.

Service users who are interested in working outdoors and like gardening get a chance to learn different aspects of horticulture.

Adults with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) can work in a quiet and structured environment and develop different ways of communicating and work on improving their independent skills

 

 

 

 

 



Signing to music – every Monday

Service Users learn to sign to chosen songs and demonstrate their skills to an appreciative audience.
