Keeping information safe and private



How we in Social Services look after and shares information about you




We will meet with you and talk to you about how we look after information about you




The information we write down will be put onto a computer or written down and put into a file.




You can ask to look at your information




We will only share your information if you are ok about this




There may be times we need to share information about you without asking if this is ok.




We will ask you to sign a form to say we have explained this leaflet to you.

Data Protection Act

A law that:

  • Allows you to see any information about you.
  • Only allows staff to share your information if you say it's ok.

But… Staff can give out information about you to others if it's best for you.

Duty Worker

A Community Nurse or a Social Worker that answers the phone and can help you.
