Diversity

In Bedfordshire, we value diversity and difference.  We have a Learning Disabilities Diversity Forum and Culture Club where we benchmark our policies and procedures to ensure that they are culturally sensitive and appropriate to individual choices, wishes and needs, while listening to what people want from their services.  The Diversity Forum is committed to promoting the provision of Inclusive services for all - including people with learning disabilities.  We work in a person-centred way to plan and provide culturally appropriate services.

Our work so far has included an anti-bullying policy|, celebrating religious and cultural festivals and training.

 

Our hard work was recently recognised when we won the East of England Regional Council for Local Government Services Equalities Award.
