Job offer

You will receive confirmation that you are the preferred candidate following the interview. Before a formal offer can be made, we need to ensure that all relevant pre-employment clearances are complete and satisfactory.

The next stage is to ensure that all the satisfactory pre employment checks are received for your application. The type of position will determine which pre employment checks are required prior to commencing work for Bedfordshire County Council. A member of the Recruitment Team will be in contact with you to keep you updated on your application during this period.

Please note all posts are subject to satisfactory references and other relevant clearances. If you are selected as the preferred candidate, no offer of appointment will be made until satisfactory clearances have been received. As soon as the pre employment checks are complete and confirmed as satisfactory a start date can be arranged and a formal contract of employment will be issued.

Appointments will only be made following appropriate employment clearances. These include employment references, medical clearance, eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and, for some positions, professional qualification and Criminal Records Bureau checks. Once these checks have been completed satisfactorily we will agree and confirm an official start date and send you a contract of employment.

References will not be sought without prior permission.

Every effort will be made to minimise any delay between your interview and the date you commence employment with Bedfordshire County Council.

A Recruitment Administrator will contact you throughout the clearance stage to keep you informed of the progress of your application.
