Reference groups
The County Council is presently seeking to recruit older people to participate in a series of reference groups across the county. Through discussion within the groups we seek to establish how we can improve the services we currently provide for older people, what they think of the services we provide and what services they think we ought to be providing. The groups receive information about our current services and comment on both their quality and impact on the lives and lifestyles for older people living in the community.
It is essential that services provided by or on behalf of the County Council are central to the values upon which services should be designed and against which they should be tested. Such a vision will only be achieved with the help and support of older people across the county who through our newly formed reference groups can assist us in shaping and informing the design of potential new services that will achieve the themes of independence, empowerment and choice. Your contribution to such a reference group would be most appreciated and valued.
We would like to hear from people who are interested in expressing their opinions, to have a voice; to be heard and ultimately to contribute to future service development. Read here for more information on the reference groups|.
