Older Peoples Strategy 2007-2012
The Corporate Strategy for Older People |is about older people, for older people, and informed by older people. Older people are at the very heart of our vision to transform services to meet their changing needs and rising expectations. Our strategy focusses on the things that really matter to older people:
-
living in safe communities
-
being able to live in their own home
-
having good health and transport
-
access to local facilities
-
being in control and having choice over their care, and
-
the best possible quality of life.
Delivering the Strategy means working closely with partners, including the Primary Care Trust (PCT), Borough and District Councils, Police and the independent and voluntary sectors.
Together we are committed to delivering services that are well planned, and make the most effective use of resources to meet the needs of our diverse and vibrant communities.
The Corporate Strategy for Older People describes some substantial changes that will be addressed over the next five years. We know there is much to do. But together with our partners, the voluntary sector and the older people whom we service, the vision can be achieved – and make a real and tangible difference to the people who live here now and in the future.
