Fairer charging

If you need long term support you will have to pay a charge for your housing related support.  If you are in receipt of Housing benefit,| Supporting People will pay that cost.  If you are not entitled to Housing Benefit, you may ask for a Fairer Charging Assessment.  This will look at your means and determine whether you are able to get help with some or all of your support costs.

What will we do?

When we receive your application for Fairer Charging, we will send you a Financial Assessment booklet.  You will need to complete this and return it to us before we can assess whether or not you are able to have help with your support costs.

If you find completing forms difficult, there is an option with the booklet for you to ask for someone from our Welfare Rights team to come to your home to help you.
