Fostering in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire County Council is responsible for arranging foster care for children in Bedfordshire. We have written these pages to help you understand more about fostering:

  • The tasks involved;
  • The expectations;
  • The support that will be available to you;
  • The process of becoming a foster carer; and
  • Other valuable information.

This is only a guide. If anything isn't clear or you would like the information in a different format or language just please let us know and we will arrange and we will try to explain it this for you. Fostering can be rewarding and enjoyable but we are not pretending it will always be easy. It is important for you to take time to think about fostering. Talk to your family and friends or call us if there is anything you are not sure about.

If, after reading these pages, you wish to take your enquiry further, simply fill in the form enclosed and return it to us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
