What is a carers assessment for Bedfordshire Carers?

If you provide, or intend to provide a substantial amount of care on a regular basis then you may receive a Carers Assessment, even if the person you care for refuses our support.

The Carers Assessment helps you to explore the impact of your caring on:

  • your physical health
  • your emotional well-being
  • your work and social life, and
  • your training and educational aspirations

We will offer to assess you with the person you care for in the first instance.  If this is not appropriate you may receive a separate carers assessment.

The assessment will help us to establish:

  • what your needs are
  • whether you are eligible to receive carers services from us
  • what services could help you as a carer
  • which voluntary organisations or charities could also help you

Get in touch with us| to find out more or to request an assessment.
