Our Performance

The Development Planning and Control Section has specific targets that it aims to achieve in terms of it's performance in the processing and determining of Planning Applications.

The main target is a National Target, BV109a, which looks at the speed of determining County Matter Planning Applications. In 2007-8 the DPC Section determined 71.88% of it's County Matter Applications within the 13 week target - against a target of 80%. The target had been raised from 2006-7 (raised from 65%) due to the fact that we had filled several staff vacancies in key areas of our planning service and hoped this would mean we would be able to achieve a much higher performance. However continued job vacancies and delays in waiting for information from applicants hit our performance in terms of BV109a - the speed of determining planning applications.

BVPI111 Planning Satisfaction Survey

We also undertook the 2006-7 BVPI111 Planning Satisfaction Survey.

Applicants and Agents who used our Planning Service in the first 6 months of 2006-7 were contacted to comment on our performance with regard to their specific planning application. The data for this survey was collected between September - November 2006 and was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

The results of the survey showed that 97% of the applicants and/or agents were satisfied or very satisfied with the service provided by County Council in processing their planning application.

Contact details for DCLG are available on our Links to Districts and other Useful Sites Page.
