Hourly rate dependent upon qualifications and teaching experience (as per the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document)
Are you a Supply Teacher looking for work? Are you currently employed on a full or part-time contract which is due to end?
HEART Education Supply Agency works in partnership with Bedfordshire Local Education Authority and commenced operation on 1 July 2002.
Supply Teachers are invited to register with HEART. Your availability details will be entered into a database and schools will be able to contact HEART to book their Supply Teachers.

Heart (Plus) Supply Agency
Heart (Plus) Supply Agency is the sister agency to the successful HEART Supply Agency for Teachers and was set up in May 2005. HEART (Plus) is dedicated and focused on providing quality support staff to Bedfordshire Schools such as:

HEART (Plus) is advertising continuously to attract new temporary staff.
We do have a number of temporary staff from all the above categories on our register, some of which have already been placed in schools on temporary, fixed term and permanent positions, others are interested in dual roles who have expressed an interest in working in a school; these temporary staff are of high calibre and, therefore, it is important we do not lose them to other agencies so please give them a try, we are confident they will not disappoint you.
The database has a search and selection facility which enables skills to be matched to client's requirements.

All Bedfordshire County Council Heart Supply Agency temporary supply workers are recruited to a high quality standard by means of:

Skills assessment testing for office staff
School Support Staff are paid as per NJC rates and the booking fees are the same as HEART. The salary, on costs and holiday pay is charged to the school's budget.
Nursery nurses
From 1 April 2006, Nursery Nurses transferred from the HEART Supply Register to the HEART (Plus) Supply Register. It is appropriate for all the School Support Staff and Nursery Nurses employed on NJC Conditions of Service to be incorporated together on one register. Some Nursery Nurses have indicated a wish to work as Teaching Assistants also and this should speed up the searches and bookings process.
With HEART (Plus) the hourly rate is paid in accordance with the NJC Conditions of Service and, at the time a request is received from the school, the school must determine the level they wish the temp to be paid as these staff are paid at different rates for each booking. They have to be paid appropriately according to the level they are working at and the responsibilities for the position should reflect this.
We charge a daily booking fee of £15.50 per full day or £11.00 per part day
Fixed Term contract £250
Permanent Contract £500
If a booking spans over the lunch time period this stops the temporary worker from being offered other work elsewhere for a morning / afternoon or a full day, therefore, we have to make a charge of £15.50 per full day.
