The valuable contribution made by support staff in our schools is widely acknowledged and,with the Government's pledge to further develop the role of non-teaching staff, this is an area which is likely to become increasingly important. Some staff will be able to train to take on new roles within schools - such as cover supervisors and higher level teaching assistants.
