Gifted and Talented Education in Bedfordshire

The role of the Local Authority is to ensure that schools have in place effective systems for identifying and making provision for gifted and talented students. We offer support to individual schools, providing whole staff training and follow-up work, including lesson observation and interviews with students, teachers and parents.

In addition there are centrally organised professional development opportunities accredited through Westminster Institute of Education at Oxford Brookes University. We work closely with other agencies, including the Bedfordshire Education and Business Partnership, the Research Centre for Able Pupils, and the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, University of Warwick.
