Students voice (BSIP)
BSIP is firmly of the belief that students have an important role to play in school improvement and student voice continues to play an important role in establishing new and innovative partnerships between students and staff.
Students as Researchers is now firmly embedded in many of our upper schools and we are keen to see the students in upper schools work closely with us to further establish these principles in the middle schools, thus creating cross phase student partnerships.
Both the middle and upper schools had extremely successful Student Voice conferences during the summer term where students and staff shared their experiences and ideas in areas such as effective school councils, students as staff interviewers, students as researchers, peer led education, peer counselling and support systems. In addition the Upper School Conference included consultation workshops on the Six Term Year proposal and establishing a County Youth Forum.
We are sure that Bedfordshire is at the forefront of Student Voice and BSIP will continue to ensure that it remains on the local and national agendas. If you would like more information on how student voice initiatives can be used effectively as part of the school improvement process please contact the BSIP office.
