Please read the following information before making an online application

Who can use the online application?

Our Online Admissions System is available to all parents / carers whose children are:

  • due to start lower school in the September 2009 academic year, no matter where the child lives
  • due to transfer to middle school in September 2009, no matter where the child lives
  • due to transfer to upper school in September 2009, but you must be resident in the existing administrative area of Bedfordshire County Council (that is you pay council tax to Bedford Borough Council, Mid or South Bedfordshire District Councils).

If you are applying for a secondary school place in another Local Authority area you must not use the online system as the system is set up specifically for lower school admissions and middle and upper school transfers. You will therefore need to complete an transfer to PDF Icon Secondary School application form |(PDF document opens in new window).

You must only use one method to apply for a school place. If you have already submitted your paper application form you must not apply online, similarly if you apply online you must not make a paper application.

Please read the information booklets PDF Icon Starting School| (PDF document opens in new window) and PDF Icon School Transfer booklet  |(PDF document opens in new window)before you make your online application. The booklets contains important information about the admissions process and details of the admissions criteria for individual schools. If your child currently attends a Bedfordshire middle or lower school you will receive the PDF Icon School Transfer  booklet   |(PDF document opens in new window) via your child's current school in the Autumn term 2008.

Catchment areas

You may find it useful to know the catchment school which serves you local area, before you make an online application. You can access catchment area information here|.

You may wish to list your catchment area school as one of your preferences. This will usually mean that you still have priority for a place at the catchment area school if a place is not available for your child at your preferred school.
