Council departments

Bedfordshire County Council is structured into six directorates. Service plans for the period 2007 to 2009 have been completed for each of these directorates:

The plans demonstrate how each of the Council's directorates contribute to the achievement of PDF Icon Making Bedfordshire Thrive| (the partnership vision for the County), the Council's strategic objectives, its nine priorities and forty community outcomes. The Council's priorities have been set to match residents' priorities, determined after extensive consultation. The outcomes are the things we have promised our residents and what they will notice as a result of our services.

The core of each service plan therefore is the various projects and actions each directorate will take over the next three years to make sure the priorities and outcomes are achieved.
