Rural Gateway update

Rural gateway moves ahead with business link

You may already be aware that significant changes have taken place at Business Link – and this affects Rural Gateway too.

From 2 April 2007 the new regional Business Link service replaced the six county-based rganisations. Having the service under one heading allows removal of back-office duplication and enables Business Link to invest in improved local delivery with high quality, impartial business advice available from an enlarged network of general and specialist advisers. There are now advisers within 20 miles of 99% of the region’s businesses!

Rural Gateway is part of this change.  Since 2nd April 2007 the existing Rural Gateway network of county-based Enquiry Officers was succeeded by a regional team of specialist rural advisers.   Information and advice is also readily available to rural businesses from the Hatfield Information and Intelligence centre – call 0845 7 17 16 15 (minicom 0845 606 6293).   Existing numbers will re-direct you to the new centre.

The new Business Link in the East of England| (new window) website offers easy access to information, advice and business intelligence services and up-coming event details can be found at Events booking| (new window).   A network of information points will also be established across the region, and targeted e-zines will keep customers informed of developments.

Diane Budd has been appointed as Specialist Rural Business Advisor with responsibility for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
