Our aim is to help people at all stages of life to participate in and enjoy music, supporting individuals in reaching their full potential in developing musical skills.
The positive benefits to personal development such as team and social skills, raising
self-confidence and the impact upon literacy and numeracy skills gained through participation in musical activities are now well documented.
Bedfordshire Music teachers provide instrumental lessons| and a wide variety of musical groups| in schools, community Music Centres| and through holiday courses across the County each year. Throughout the year, we stage many musical events| including instrumental workshop days, Master Classes, and a range of celebration concerts for school and our many youth and Music Centre groups.
To enhance our range of music making opportunities for the people of Bedfordshire we have developed projects and programmes targeted at particular areas of need in schools and the community. These include a large-scale vocal project to bring singing opportunities to as many children and young people as possible, music technology work in special schools and a ground breaking community music| leader programme.
In all areas of our work, we aim to ensure the widest possible range of musical styles, traditions and experiences are available from Classical to Jazz, Rock & Pop, to Bhangra.
