Bedfordshire Music is the principal provider of instrumental education and musical enrichment
opportunities in the County of Bedfordshire.
Over 200 Bedfordshire Music teachers work in schools and Music Centres across the County each week, working at all levels from very beginner to advanced level. Many students from Bedfordshire Music have gone on to become
professional performers and teachers in their own right and we are very proud of the musical tradition that has been established in the County over many years.
As a pupil of Bedfordshire Music, you will have the opportunity to participate in the many musical enrichment activities organised by Bedfordshire Music, such as orchestras, bands, chamber ensembles, percussion and world music groups, instrumental festivals, workshops and concerts. In addition, our five community Music Centres, situated throughout the County, offer a wide variety of ensembles and musical activities each Saturday morning and during weekday evenings throughout the year – we even have one of the few Youth Opera Companies in the country!
Flavour of the Month
Bedfordshire Youth Opera proudly presents Carmen by Bizet.
Carmen will transport you to a world of Spanish gypsies, soldiers, bullfighters and smugglers and is one of the most famous operas of all time. A tragic love story with an outspoken, brash female lead, it is filled with musical highlights, including the famous Habanera and Toreador songs.
