The most recent Ofsted inspection of Bedfordshire Music in 2003 acknowledged Bedfordshire Music as a good Music Service and paid particular comment to the high quality of its County ensemble provision.  At the publication of Ofsteds report of the provision of music in 15 Local Authorities in October 2004, David Bell, Chief Inspector of Schools highlighted Bedfordshire Music for particular merit stating that "Bedfordshire Music provides very good music support to pupils who play instruments in centrally organised ensembles.  This support is helping nurture pupils' interest and skills in music and leading to some high quality playing of musical instruments at schools in Bedfordshire".
