Registration of births deaths marriages and civil partnerships

Welcome to Bedfordshire Registration Service

Bedfordshire Registration Service is responsible for recording all births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships which occur in Bedfordshire (excluding Luton) and for undertaking civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies at its offices and at approved marriage venues within the County.

From 1st January 2004 all successful applicants for naturalisation as a British citizen are required to attend a Citizenship Ceremony. This Service is now responsible for arranging and conducting these ceremonies.

The Bedfordshire Registration Service, in partnership with Civil Ceremonies Ltd, also offers celebratory services such as Baby Naming, Renewal of Vows, Commitment Ceremonies and Civil Funerals.

The Register Office is in Bedford, with outstations in Ampthill, Biggleswade, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard, and holds records of all Bedfordshire birth, death and marriage registrations since 1837.
