Support for Learners with difficulties and or disabilities

We aim to ensure that all adults who wish to do so are able to access the services provided by Bedfordshire Adult & Community Learning. We can only help if you let us know what your particular needs might be. Examples of the kind of help that can be made available include:

  •   supporting physical access to classes wherever practicable
  •   learning materials adapted for people with sight or hearing difficulties
  •   adaptive equipment
  •   special arrangements for examinations

Choosing the right course for you

The amount of information that can be included in a brochure is limited. If you would like more information about a particular course or subject areas please contact our office on Freephone 0808 100 3140. Staff there can advise you on the range of courses available, send you course information sheets giving more details about courses of interest or arrange for a relevant tutor to contact you.

If you want to study with a view to gaining employment, changing your career path or furthering your career and are unsure which qualifications would be of most help we can put you in touch with an independent careers advisor

The Adult learning disabilities service| offers a range of opportunities for individuals to develop their skills across Bedfordshire, from structured day resources where individuals can be supported in developing independence skills, to vocational qualifications (ASDAN & NVQ), working in small cafes, tea rooms and coffee shops, supported employment, horticulture, animal husbandry, fabric crafts, newsroom reporting, learning about film (we have recently made our own 1-hour film!) and much much more!
