Courses for adults
Welcome to the courses for adults section.
The Adult & Community Learning Service offers a wide range of courses for adults, at times and venues that suit you. This area of the website includes links to facilities that allow you to look for courses run by us, across Bedfordshire County Council. Once you have identified the course you are interested in, you can then view its course details, and enrol by following the link to enrolment forms. New courses are on offer and enrolment is taking place NOW for courses starting in January 2009.
Look out for the NEW Spark Directory available from January 2009.

Arts & Crafts

Awaken the artist or craftsperson within you. We have courses for complete beginners and improvers alike. We have a specialist site in Bedford as well as many venues across the County for dressmaking, pottery, jewellery making and many more.

Lifestyle & Healthy Living

Improve your health and well-being, relax and de-stress by joining one of our lifestyle courses. Perhaps you would like to set up your own business in Complementary Therapy, you can achieve this by gaining a qualification through Adult Learning.

Computing

Join our computing classes where we offer a friendly environment so you can learn new skills and improve your computer knowledge for business or pleasure, or maybe you have a PC that you don't know what to do with we may have just the course for you.

Modern Languages

Whether you are a complete beginner or not, our 'Get by' and 'Brush up your skills' courses have been designed with your needs in mind. We offer a range of languages at various levels, if unsure contact your local office to check which level suits you best.

Skills for Life

Is the lack of a formal qualification holding you back in your career or when looking for a job? Do you find it difficult to keep up with the children when they want help with their homework? If you want to learn how to take photographs or enhance your skills and learn more techniques for taking or printing your photograph, then have a look to see if there is something for you, if you cannot see something in particular and would like to suggest a new course, please do let us know.

If you need to improve your grades or start a GCSE course from scratch, then we may have the course for you.

We have courses ranging from ballroom dancing to plumbing and many more. If you would like further infomation or to suggest a new course please contact the local office. We can also put you in touch with an independant careers advisor if you need further advice and guidance.

Teaching, Education and Training

You can achieve a teaching qualification, we offer PTLLS (preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector, alternatively develop your team leading skills with an Institute of Learning in Management award/certificate.
